Ducks Unlimited Canal Tour

Duration:
About two hours including check-in, gear distribution, safety talk, and boat loading. Ninety minutes of water time guaranteed. Route length is 3 miles.

Experience Level:
Experience is helpful, but not required.

Overview:
We are running this tour in partnership with Ducks Unlimited Grosse Pointe Chapter. All tour participants will receive a free 1 year membership to Ducks Unlimited when they sign up for this tour. After your tour we hope you will head over to the Bingo Night across the canal at the Thompkins Community Center at Windmill Point Park.

We’ll depart from Detroit River Sports and enjoy the sights and sounds of the water. We’ll spend most of our time learning about the history of the river and the Eastside Canals, visiting Greyhaven Island wind permitting and the Historic Fisher Mansion along the way. We’ll finish with a quiet paddle through the canals in southern Jefferson Chalmers. A duck hunter / conservationist will be along for the ride.

Requirements:
Children under the age of 12 must be in a tandem kayak with an adult. All participants must wear a Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD) while on a Detroit River Sports Tour (we provide them, don’t worry!), this is for your safety and the safety of our staff.
