Birdwatching Tour

Duration:
About two hours including check-in, gear distribution, safety talk, and boat loading. Ninety minutes of water time guaranteed. Route length is about 3 miles for the Grayhaven Route and 4.6 for the Peche Isle Route.

Experience Level:
Experience is helpful but not required for the Grayhaven Island Route and strongly suggested for the Peche Isle Route.

Overview:
This is a special collaboration with the Detroit Bird Alliance.We will depart from Detroit River Sports and enjoy the sights and sounds of the water, including bird watching! We will learn about the history of the river and the Eastside Canals and nearby islands, sharing bird facts and ways that you can support these beautiful creatures along the way. We will be visiting Peche Island on Saturday May 23rd or Grayhaven Island on Thursday May 28th.

$15 from each ticket will be given directly to the Detroit Bird Alliance

Requirements:
Children under the age of 12 must be in a tandem kayak with an adult. All participants must wear a Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD) while on a Detroit River Sports Tour (we provide them, don’t worry!), this is for your safety and the safety of our staff.
